Porto Rotondo

Porto Rotondo is a village that belongs to the municipality of Olbia. It is part of the province of Olbia-Tempio and is located in the north-east of Sardinia, a few kilometers from Olbia, Golfo Aranci, Palau and Arzachena, behind the Gulf of Marinella.

It is a place of enormous importance in Sardinian, Italian and international tourism. Including the Gulf of Cugnana and that of Marinella, the resort covers 500 hectares and has a large, high-standard port with a capacity of 800 moorings.

Every year at the end of August, Porto Rotondo hosts the Big Game, a sporting event dedicated to deep sea fishing, considered one of the most important in the Mediterranean.

Among its most famous beaches are “Ira” in honor of Ira von Fürstenberg, Spiaggia Sassi and Punta Volpe. Together with Porto Cervo, Porto Rotondo is considered one of the most important “in” spots in Sardinia and in all of Italy: it is quite likely to meet VIP’s, especially during the summer season in the various nightclubs.
