Marina di Capitana is a suburb of the municipality of Quartu S. Elena. It is about 10 km from the city center and can be reached by taking the scenic road (SP 17) towards Villasimius. The Capitana area is characterized by small but beautiful beaches, they have an average length of about ten meters. Es gibt auch einen Yachthafen, der Hafen Marina di Capitana, mit etwa 500 Bootsplätzen, die von zwei Deichen geschützt werden.

Capitana is supplied with all the main services such as restaurants, pizzerias, bars, shops, etc. There is a well-functioning tourism, in fact there is a four-star hotel, an agriturismo and a campsite.

The narrow beach of Capitana is characterized by its fine, white sand, which loses itself in the water of the Gulf of Cagliari. The sandy bottom shines brightly in the crystal-clear water. The surrounding green hills are covered with poplars, tamarisks and eucalyptus. The shallow bottom and clear water make bathing safe and suitable for children, and the beaches are patrolled by lifeguards to be on the safe side. The mistral winds make the area an ideal place for surfers and sailors too.
